KARACHI – The federal government on Saturday reduced the price of jet fuel by Rs7.15 per litre, providing relief to the aviation sector by lowering aircraft fuel costs. Following the latest revision, the price of jet fuel has been reduced to Rs231.72 per litre. The reduction is expected to ease operating costs for airlines, as fuel accounts for a significant portion of aviation expenses. According to the notification, the reduction was made after reviewing changes in global petroleum markets and considering recommendations from relevant authorities. The government said petroleum prices are regularly evaluated based on international market trends, import costs and applicable taxes. The government has decided to maintain the existing prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the coming week. Petrol will continue to be sold at Rs299.50 per litre, while diesel will remain priced at Rs311.47 per litre. Meanwhile, petroleum levy rates on petrol and diesel have been increased. Sources from the Petroleum Division said the levy on diesel has been raised by Rs6.57 per litre, bringing the total levy to Rs79.54 per litre. The levy on petrol has also bee
