ISLAMABAD – The Power Division has asked electricity consumers to stay alert against fake QR codes to get subsidy in bills. It warned that fraudulent activities being carried out by hackers and criminal elements under the guise of a government subsidy scheme. After submitting their details, users are then asked to enter a six-digit verification code on the same platform. The spokesperson warned that these tactics are fraudulent and illegal, noting that some individuals are using QR codes to carry out malicious activities. Consumers were advised not to share their personal information in any form, whether online or on paper, to access electricity subsidies.
