Seniority list in Islamabad High Court revised after transfer of three judges

ISLAMABAD – The seniority list of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been revised following the transfer of three judges to different high courts, resulting in changes within the judicial hierarchy. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan has become the most senior judge after the Chief Justice as per the updated seniority list. Following the changes, a new duty roster for the upcoming week has also been issued. Under the revised schedule, seven single benches and four division benches will hear cases starting from May 4. A special division bench for tax-related matters has been constituted, comprising Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir. A third division bench will consist of Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif, whereas the fourth division bench will comprise Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas. The newly issued duty roster will remain in effect from May 4 until further orders. Earlier, three judges of Islamabad High Court were transferred to different high courts across the country. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani was transferred to the Lahore High Court, Justice Babar Sattar to the Peshawar High Court and Justice Saman Rifat Imtiaz to the Sindh High Court.
