LAHORE – The Punjab government has launched a new driving licence facility for citizens aged between 16 and 18 years, introducing a Juvenile Permit system aimed at young motorcycle riders under defined rules and conditions. Under the new arrangement, applicants will be able to obtain a juvenile driving permit after fulfilling the required documentation and age criteria. The initiative is designed to regulate and formalize driving permissions for teenagers while ensuring road safety compliance. Requirements for Juvenile Driving License According to official details, applicants are required to present their Smart Card or Form B at the time of application. The policy also requires the presence of a parent or legal guardian during the application process. Guardians must provide a copy of their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) along with a passport-size photograph. Juvenile Driving Permit Fees For those aged 16 years, the prescribed fee has been set at Rs 1,000, while applicants aged between 17 and 18 years will be charged Rs 500. Speed Limit and Bike Engine Capacity Authorities have also imposed specific conditions for juvenile permit holders. Young riders will not be allowed to operate motorcycles exceeding 125cc, and their speed limit has been restricted to a maximum of 60 kilometres per hour. Officials have emphasized that all permit holders must strictly follow traffic laws and adopt safe driving practices at all times.
