PSL 11: PCB unveils prize money for Champions, Runners-up

The stage is set for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final, with favourites Peshawar Zalmi and resurgent Hyderabad Kingsmen set to clash at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a significant change to the prize structure. For the first time in PSL history, teams will receive individual prize money allocations. The champions will be awarded $500,000 along with, while the runners-up will receive $300,000. Additionally, $200,000 has been earmarked for the franchise with the most effective player development programme. The tournament-winning prize for players will be $500,000. For Babar Azam’s Zalmi, the clash marks a long-awaited return to the title decider after four years. The former champions secured their place emphatically, defeating Islamabad United by 70 runs in the Qualifier. With their captain in outstanding form, Zalmi will be aiming to end their trophy drought with a strong performance. Hyderabad Kingsmen, on the other hand, have emerged as the surprise package of the tournament. Despite finishing fourth in the league phase, they surged into the final with consecutive knockout victories over Multan Sultans and a three-time champion side in Eliminator 2, reaching the summit clash in their debut season.
