Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of eminent senior journalist, intellectual, and founder of Urdu Digest, Altaf Hassan Qureshi. In her condolence statement, the Information Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, stating that the late Altaf Hassan Qureshi was a highly respected and prominent name in Pakistani journalism. She noted that he consistently upheld principled journalism and promoted high ethical values, standards that are rarely seen in today’s era. Paying tribute to his services, Azma Bokhari said that through Urdu Digest, Altaf Hassan Qureshi made invaluable contributions to Urdu literature and journalism, which will always be remembered. She added that his writings provided a great source of learning and inspiration. The Minister prayed that Almighty Allah grants forgiveness to the departed soul, elevates his ranks, and gives strength and patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
