Gilani reaffirms committment for accountability

Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, was presented with the Annual Report (March 2025 – March 2026) of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue by its Chairman, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla. The report outlines the Committee’s legislative, oversight and policy initiatives undertaken to promote fiscal transparency, financial accountability, effective governance and oversight of matters relating to the national economy and revenue generation. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized the vital role of parliamentary oversight in strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring transparency and accountability in public affairs. He appreciated the Committee’s proactive role in examining key financial and revenue-related matters and acknowledged its contribution towards improving governance and public confidence in democratic processes. Chairman Senate commended Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and the members of the Committee for their dedication and hard work, stating that effective parliamentary committees are essential for safeguarding public interests.
