KARACHI – A court in Karachi on Friday remanded alleged drug queenpin Anmol, also known as Pinky, to jail on judicial custody for 14 days in connection with multiple narcotics cases as well as a murder case. Anmol alias Pinky was produced before the concerned judicial magistrates at the Judicial Complex inside Central Jail under tight security arrangements after the completion of her physical remand in several cases registered across different police stations. She was initially arrested earlier this month in Karachi over charges related to possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon. Authorities stated that she was already facing multiple criminal cases prior to her recent arrest, bringing the total number of active cases against her to more than a dozen. On Friday, she was presented before magistrates in cases registered at Baghdadi, Special Investigation Unit (SIU/CIA), Gizri, and Darakhshan police stations. Her physical remand had concluded in both a narcotics-related case and a murder case, along with additional remands in nearly 10 older drug-related cases. During the hearing, prosecution teams sought an extension of her physical custody for further investigation. However, the court rejected the request and ordered that she be sent to jail on judicial remand in all cases. The investigating officers have been directed to complete their inquiries and submit charge sheets before the court within the stipulated time. Earlier in the day, the South District and Sessions Court had approved police requests to produce the suspect before the Judicial Complex under security arrangements.
