MS NOW s Jen Psaki spoke with Jeffries about Israel playing a role in the New York Democratic primary. She asked Jeffries about his reflection on the issue and how Democratic voters may have made their decision to unseat pro-Israel incumbents based on the party s support for Israel amid its nearly three-year war in Gaza.
I think for us as House Democrats, we’re just hopeful that everybody recognizes once we get through this primary season, that the enemy is Donald Trump and MAGA extremism in terms of trying to bring about the type of America that we all desire, where when you work hard and play by the rules, working class folks can live a comfortable life, an affordable life and a good life, Jeffries said after a lengthy answer.
New York races on Tuesday saw Democratic candidates who have been vocal critics of Israel s government and who have led or taken part in pro-Palestinian protests defeat incumbents who have shown support to Israel in the years after the Hamas attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
