Intermittent rain and gusty winds with isolated hailstorms are expected in Lahore and several parts of Punjab on Friday night and Saturday. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly weather system is currently affecting the western and upper regions of the country. Under its influence, partly cloudy weather with windstorms, rain, thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms is expected in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Murree, Galyat, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Chiniot, Sargodha, Noorpur Thal, Jhang, Faisalabad, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Taunsa and Dera Ghazi Khan. On Saturday, most districts of Punjab are likely to experience mainly hot and dry weather. However, isolated areas including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Murree, Galyat, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Khushab may receive rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms. The maximum temperature in Lahore is expected to remain between 40°C and 42°C on Saturday and Sunday, while temperatures may rise to 41°C to 43°C on Monday. Meanwhile, several areas of Punjab received rainfall with gusty winds during the last 24 hours. Murree recorded the highest rainfall at 20 mm, followed by Mangla 7 mm, Rawalpindi 6 mm, Narowal 6 mm and Bhakkar 4 mm. Toba Tek Singh received 2 mm, Islamabad (Saidpur, Bokra 2, A/P, City, Golra 1), Lahore, Chakwal and Kasur 1 mm. In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C, while evening humidity stood at 20%.
