Pakistan registers 43,559 new companies in FY2026 as corporate sector records strong growth

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s corporate sector recorded significant growth during the fiscal year 2025-26, with 43,559 new companies registered, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The figure represents a 24 percent increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Following the latest registrations, the total number of registered companies in the country has reached 301,615. The SECP also reported that 4,323 new companies were registered in June alone, marking the highest number of company registrations ever recorded in a single month. Registrations of public sector companies also increased by 25 percent during the fiscal year. Province-wise, Punjab recorded 22,364 new company registrations, followed by Sindh with 6,691, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 3,820, Gilgit-Baltistan with 1,585, and Balochistan with 759. According to the SECP, Gilgit-Baltistan recorded the highest growth rate in company registrations at 65 percent, followed by Balochistan at 36 percent. The commission said that 41 percent of all newly registered companies belonged to the trading sector, reflecting growing business activity across the country. The SECP further stated that foreign investors registered 1,014 companies in Pakistan during FY2025-26, with a paid-up capital of Rs2.5 billion. Most foreign investment was directed towards the trading, mining, and information technology sectors. Chinese investors registered the highest number of companies, while investors from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and Spain also established new companies in Pakistan during the fiscal year.
