ISLAMABAD – Federal Investigation Agency Director General Dr Usman Anwar has been assigned the additional charge of the National Police Bureau DG. The Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control has issued a notification in this regard after the appointment was approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “With the approval of the Prime Minister, Dr. Usman Anwar (BS-21/PSP), currently serving as Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), has been assigned the additional charge of Director General, National Police Bureau, Islamabad,” the notification said. The appointment is effective from May 1, 2026, and will continue for a period of three months or until a regular incumbent is posted, whichever occurs first.
