LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced that annual examinations or board exams for Grade 5 students will now be conducted under the Punjab Education Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA), expanding the assessment system beyond Grade 8. Officials said the registration process for the Grade 5 Annual Assessment 2026-27 will be carried out through the IBS system. Registration will begin on June 25, 2026, and continue until August 8, 2026. All public schools have been directed to complete student registration within the given timeframe. Head teachers are required to upload accurate student data, including correct personal details, while ensuring that dates of birth are entered according to official records. Authorities have also instructed schools to upload recent passport-size photographs of students during registration. Additionally, information regarding examination centers and nearby banks must be provided as part of the process. District Education Officers and educational institutions across Punjab have been directed to ensure timely completion of registration and necessary arrangements for the annual assessment. Officials stated that the initiative aims to make the examination system more organized, transparent, and effective, enabling a better evaluation of students’ academic performance.
