ISLAMABAD – All citizens of Pakistan are entitled to the passport for travelling abroad, subject to completion of all codal formalities. The passport provides the Pakistani citizens protection while travelling in foreign countries through the good offices of Pakistan Diplomatic Missions. Accordingly, the holder of a valid Pakistan passport, when in a foreign country, is entitled to the protection of diplomatic and consular representative of Pakistan in that country. Passports are issued in two major types – Machine-Readable Passport (MRP) and e-Passport. On the other hand, for a 36-page passport, the normal fee is Rs 4,500 for five years and Rs 6,700 for ten years, while urgent processing costs Rs7,500 and Rs. 11,200 respectively. The 72-page passport is priced at Rs. 8,200 for five years and Rs. 12,400 for ten years under normal processing, with urgent fees of Rs. 13,500 and Rs. 20,200. For the 100-page passport, citizens will pay Rs. 9,000 for five years and Rs. 13,500 for ten years under standard processing, while urgent applications are Rs. 18,000
