The Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rains and gusty winds with isolated hailstorms in Lahore and parts of Punjab from June 2 to June 5 with occasional breaks. According to the experts, a westerly weather system will approach the upper parts of Pakistan tomorrow and remain active until June 5, bringing intermittent rainfall and strong winds to various parts of the province. The affected districts include Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Layyah. Weather experts have warned that strong winds, hailstorms, and lightning associated with the system could damage vulnerable infrastructure, including solar panels, electricity poles, and billboards. Farmers have been advised to take precautionary measures and plan agricultural activities in accordance with the weather forecast. Meanwhile, tourists and travelers have been urged to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions. In response to the forecast, authorities have directed all district administrations and relevant departments to maintain a high level of preparedness. District Emergency Operation Centers (DEOCs) have been instructed to ensure round-the-clock staffing for effective coordination and emergency response.
