‘Luce’: Ferrari lunches first electric sports car – Check top speed, range details
Why this matters: local context for readers following news across Pakistan and the region.
Luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari has unveiled its first fully electric vehicle, named “Luce,” marking a major shift in the company’s automotive lineup. The Italian brand introduced the model at a time when some rivals, including Porsche and Lamborghini, have slowed down their electric vehicle plans due to weaker demand in the EV market. The Ferrari Luce is a four-door, five-seater vehicle — the first of its kind in the company’s history. It has been designed in collaboration with former Apple chief designer Jony Ive and his creative firm LoveFrom. Unlike Ferrari’s traditional aggressive sports styling, the Luce features a more spacious and glass-heavy design. Its interior combines leather, glass, and anodized aluminum, along with physical control buttons instead of a fully digital interface, setting it apart from many modern EV designs. The car is powered by four electric motors, one for each wheel, producing over 1,000 horsepower combined. Despite its performance focus, Ferrari has also integrated sound and vibration elements to preserve a traditional driving feel. The company’s CEO Benedetto Vigna said the project represents five years of development, with deliveries expected to begin in the final quarter of 2026. Top Speed The Ferrari Luce has a top speed of over 310 km/h. Per Charge Range It offers a driving range of more than 500 km on a single charge. Ferrari Luce Price The vehicle is priced at around €550,000 (approximately $640,000).
