A Karachi court on Monday extended the physical remand of alleged drug queen Anmol alias “Pinky” for four more days in a murder case. Police officials said the murder case was lodged at the Baghdadi police station after her initial arrest on allegations of operating a drug supply network. She was first taken into custody on May 12 during a joint raid conducted in Karachi’s Garden area by law enforcement personnel and a civilian intelligence agency. Authorities claim that weapons, cocaine, and other narcotics valued at around Rs1.5 million were recovered from her possession. Investigators further alleged that she was running an organised drug distribution network in the city. The suspect, however, rejected the accusations, stating that she had been detained in Lahore nearly 15 days earlier and later shifted to Karachi. During initial questioning, the accused admitted to handling narcotics worth over Rs20 million monthly in Karachi and said she paid large sums in bribes to different police stations. Earlier, Karachi Additional Inspector General Azad Khan said investigators had uncovered foreign links in the network. He added that women based in Lahore were also reportedly involved, along with six African nationals. Police further said raids were continuing to arrest remaining members of the alleged gang.
