ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new feature in its Pak ID mobile app, giving users full control over their biometric data. The “Block Biometric Data Access” feature ensures that no fingerprints or facial recognition verification can occur without the user’s explicit permission. According to NADRA officials, the feature aims to safeguard sensitive biometric information and put control entirely in the hands of users. To activate it, users must log into the Pak ID app, navigate to “Profile Settings,” and select “Block Biometric Data Access.” On some devices, activation may require fingerprint or facial verification. Users can temporarily disable the feature when biometric verification is needed and reactivate it afterward, maintaining data security. NADRA emphasized that the new system provides greater control over identity information and prevents unnecessary use of biometric data.
