Islamabad Police have taken three suspects into custody after they allegedly tried to kidnap a foreign couple at gunpoint in the city’s I-9 Markaz area. According to investigators, the incident occurred on Friday evening when three men riding motorcycles intercepted the couple’s car and attempted to force them out by threatening them with firearms. The suspects reportedly escaped after the victims resisted, taking away cash, mobile phones, valuable belongings, and important documents. Following the complaint, the Industrial Area Police Station registered a case and launched an immediate investigation that led to the arrest of three individuals identified as Mohsin, Umar, and Muawiya. Police said one of the detained suspects, Mohsin, had previously served as a police officer. The victims are a married couple holding American and British citizenship.
