PARIS – Founder of e-commerce giant Amazon, Jeff Bezos, has predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) will increase demand for workers rather than replace them. Addressing a technology conference in Paris, Jeff Bezos said concerns about AI making human labour obsolete were widespread, but he did not share those fears. “I know many people, including highly intelligent individuals, are worried that AI will eventually eliminate the need for human workers,” he said. “I disagree with that view. In my opinion, AI will expand the workforce and create greater demand for labour.” His comments differ from predictions by some experts who believe AI-driven automation could lead to significant job losses across various industries worldwide. Bezos said AI would not destroy jobs but would instead generate new opportunities, create emerging industries and increase the need for skilled workers in different sectors. The billionaire entrepreneur also highlighted the importance of space exploration, urging humanity to focus on expanding its presence beyond Earth. He described the Moon as the first major destination for human settlement in space, saying future missions would aim to establish a permanent presence rather than conduct short visits. “We are going to the Moon to stay, not just to visit,” Bezos said. He added that a long-term human base on the Moon would play a crucial role in supporting future space missions and advancing deeper exploration of the solar system.
