Marka-e-Haq Square at Rawalpindi’s Kutchery Chowk likely to be inaugurated tomorrow

RAWALPINDI – The newly developed Kutchery Chowk, now officially renamed Marka-e-Haq Square, is likely to be inaugurated tomorrow, May 10 that marks the first anniversary of the battle of victory against Indian aggressions. The project, which includes a major road upgrade, flyovers, underpasses, and a monument, aims to improve traffic flow and commemorate the sacrifices of martyrs. The comprehensive project, completed in just six months at a cost exceeding Rs20 billion, features two flyovers, three underpasses, and two steel bridges. Officials have stated that while the inauguration may temporarily disrupt traffic in the area, the roads are expected to fully open to the public by next week. In addition to the traffic infrastructure, the Marka-e-Haq Monument is being constructed in Baggi Park, in front of Fatima Jinnah Women University. Built by the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), the monument is a replica of the one in Islamabad’s H-8 sector, yet unique as it is being established within an existing park without requiring additional land. The monument is dedicated to the victims and heroes of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, symbolizing the nation’s unity, resilience, and unwavering resolve against threats.
