Egypt condemns Bannu terrorist attack in Pakistan

CAIRO – Egypt condemned the terrorist attack targeting Pakistani police personnel in the city of Bannu in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which resulted in a number of victims and injuries. Egypt reiterated its complete rejection of all forms of violence, terrorism, and extremism, and affirms its steadfast position calling for intensified international efforts to combat terrorism. Egypt also expressed its full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and its support for all efforts aimed at preserving security and stability. A day earlier, at least 15 police officers were killed on Saturday night in a suicide bombing targeting the Fateh Khel police post in Bannu district. The attack occurred when assailants drove an explosives-laden vehicle into the police station. Bannu’s Regional Police Officer, Sajjad Khan, stated that 18 officers were on duty at the post at the time. Three officers survived with injuries, while the remaining 15 lost their lives in the blast.
