The pair have faced intense pressure over the nature of their relationship in recent days, with Labor questioning whether they followed the ministerial code of conduct. (ABC News: Jack McKay) Mr Mander, who holds the Olympics portfolio, and Ms Camm, who holds the Child Safety portfolio, both fronted separate press conferences late today. They have both previously acknowledged they were in a personal relationship from June 2023, but that ended in May 2024, before they were sworn in as ministers in November that year. They have confirmed their relationship resumed in June 2025, and they sought the integrity commissioner's advice before making the appropriate declarations to cabinet the next month. Mr Mander released his conflict of interest management plan today and insisted there was no conflict of interest when he was sworn in as a minister. "With regards to my obligations as a minister, I've done everything according to the ministerial code of conduct and have ensured I've followed that every step of the way. "The crucial question is, when I became a minister, was there a relationship that should've been declared, was I in a relationship, and I was not." (ABC News: Jack McKay) Mr Mander would not say, though, if he disclosed his earlier relationship with Ms Camm between June 2023 and May 2024 when he met with the integrity commissioner when he was sworn in. "I spoke about a whole range of matters, and her [the integrity commissioner's] conclusion was there was no conflict of interest that I needed to declare," Mr Mander said. Ms Camm also would not say if she had divulged details about the former relationship to the integrity commissioner when she was sworn in. But she maintained there was no conflict of interest to declare at that time because she and Mr Mander were not then in a relationship. We discussed many, many things, of which is a confidential meeting," Ms Camm said of the meeting after she was sworn in. "At that time, there was no conflict of interest between me and Minister Mander. We were not in a relationship at that time." Ms Camm acknowledged the focus on the relationship had caused "enormous distress" to the family and friends of both her and Mr Mander. "We are human beings, and yes, we have a private life. "And in some of those relationships now that we have formed, does that cause people hurt? I'm sure it does. And am I sorry for that? Absolutely, I am." Amanda Camm has asked that the privacy of their friends and family be respected. (AAP: Darren England) Like Mr Mander, Ms Camm also released a conflict of interest management plan relating to their relationship, which was signed off in July last year. "What we are doing today is we're actually sharing a conflict of interest management plan which we do not have to disclose to the public or to Queenslanders," she said. "And we are doing that in the interest of completeness and transparency after the many, many weeks of interest in our private relationship." Both Ms Camm and Mr Mander said they informed Premier David Crisafulli of their earlier relationship while they were in opposition. Mr Mander's conflict of interest management plan, signed off in July 2025, acknowledges there may be a perception he might take actions that benefit Ms Camm because he has an interest in "her personal happiness and professional and political success". The plan says if a matter arises in his portfolio that might materially impact Ms Camm in both her ministerial and non-ministerial roles, he must declare it to the premier and seek integrity commissioner advice.
