ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed warm Eidul Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan and Muslims around the globe in separate messages issued on the occasion. They emphasized that Eidul Azha symbolizes devotion to Allah, perseverance, faithfulness, honesty, and the spirit of sacrifice, inspired by the exemplary obedience of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS). President Zardari stated that genuine sacrifice goes beyond rituals and calls for compassion and care for others. He noted that the true happiness of Eid can only be achieved when vulnerable members of society — including the poor, widows, orphans, labourers, persons with disabilities, and other deserving individuals — are remembered and supported. He also highlighted the importance of helping those who suffer quietly without asking for assistance. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that values such as sacrifice, national unity, and mutual support are vital for a country’s development and stability. He added that the Pakistani nation stands firmly with the people of Palestine and those living in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir during this significant occasion. The prime minister prayed for peace, harmony, and prosperity across the world and asked Allah Almighty to accept the sacrifices and bless the Muslim Ummah with the true essence of Eid-ul-Azha. Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar also extended Eid-ul-Azha greetings to Muslims in Pakistan and around the world.
