ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has again issued schedule of summer vacation 2026 for private schools in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA), which works under the ministry, took the action after violation was observed in Islamabad by the private schools. It said the summer holidays 2026 will be observed from May 25 to July 31 across all schools. “I am directed to refer this office earlier letter of even number Dated: 21.05.2026 on the above citied subject and to once again reiterate that all Private Educational Institutions (PEIs) within the territorial jurisdiction of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) shall strictly observe Summer Vacation Schedule – 2026 W.E.F 25.05.2026 to 31.07.2026 already notified by the Authority (ICT-PEIRA) on 21.05.2026 in letter and spirit, without fail,” read the notification. It warned that “managements (principals & owners) of non-compliant Private Educational Institutions (PEIs) on this account, if any, shall be prosecuted, through District Administration, Islamabad under relevant provisions of ICT-PEIRA Act, 2013”. Earlier, the Punjab government has announced summer vacations 2026 for all public and private schools from May 22, 2026, to August 23, 2026, with regular classes resuming on August 24, 2026.
