These are all things the 2027 Cadillac Lyriq offers as standard. That doesn't mean it's the best in its segment, as some other electric mid-size luxury SUVs offer more cargo room and better handling. But it's darn appealing. Inside the Lyriq's stylish body awaits a spacious two-row cabin dressed up in premium materials, made sweeter with comfortable seats and a cool 33.0-inch curved digital dashboard display. The high-performance V-series trim uncorks maximum power at 615 ponies, but it's place atop the Lyriq hierarchy comes with a much more expensive price tag. And for all you hearse freaks who want to go electric, Cadillac will also sell a Lyriq hearse. But in order to haul a casket, the SUV will still need to go to an upfitter for the proper equipment. Expert Tip: While the Lyriq has seating for five, the larger three-row Vistiq can accommodate up to seven riders. A performance-oriented Lyriq V boosts output of the two electric motors to 615 horsepower. The standard Lyriq's road manners will be a letdown to enthusiast drivers. While its handling feels stable and competent, the Lyriq doesn't deliver much fun when pressed hard. Its steering is nicely weighted but lacks tactility, and the same could be said of the brake pedal. Luckily, Cadillac has engineered an aggressive regenerative braking system that allows for one-pedal driving, so merely lifting off the accelerator pedal slows the vehicle quickly enough to avoid touching the brake pedal in most day-to-day driving scenarios. The ride is comfortable over smooth pavement, but some may find the suspension loses its creamy isolation over rougher stretches of road. Thankfully, the Lyriq-V comes with a lowered suspension system with adaptive dampers, which significantly sharpens the handling. In Comparison: At our test track, the rear-wheel-drive Lyriq made it to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, which is fairly quick by mid-size-gasoline-SUV standards but behind many EV rivals. At our test track, the all-wheel-drive Lyriq jumped to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. Not bad, but still considerably slower than rivals such as the Genesis GV60 (3.7 seconds).
