The State Bank of Pakistan, its allied offices, public sector and private banks, and development financial institutions will remain closed on June 25 and June 26, 2026 (Thursday and Friday) on account of public holidays for Ashura. As such, there will be four consecutive bank holidays, since Saturday and Sunday are weekly days off. “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on 25th and 26th June 2026 (Thursday and Friday) being public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9th and 10th Moharram 1448 A.H.), as declared by the Government of Pakistan”, reads a statement issued by the central bank on Tuesday.
