Bilawal Bhutto hit with e-challan for Seat Belt Violation in Karachi
Why this matters: local context for readers following news across Pakistan and the region.
KARACHI – Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reportedly been issued an e-challan for violating traffic rules in Karachi. Bhutto scion’s vehicle was fined for not wearing a seat belt. The incident reportedly took place at Jinnah Signal, where an e-challan was generated after the violation was detected. The vehicle bearing registration number BF-7776 is officially registered under the name of Dr. Dinsha Hoshang Uncle Saria, but at the time of the violation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari himself was allegedly driving the vehicle and was present inside without wearing a seat belt. The controversy doesn’t end there. Police records indicate that the same vehicle had already been fined earlier for overspeeding on December 31, 2025, near the Baloch Colony Bridge on Shahrah-e-Faisal, adding another layer to the ongoing discussion around repeated traffic violations linked to the car. Lately, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari attended inauguration ceremony of Shahrah-e-Bhutto, where he reportedly arrived in the same vehicle and is said to have driven it himself. Did Junaid Safdar really get fined by Lahore Traffic Police for violation?
