ISLAMABAD – Pakistani government passed on global oil prices relief, cutting petroleum prices by up to Rs74 per litre after peace agreement between the US and Iran eased pressure on international energy markets. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government was passing on the full benefit of lower international oil prices to the public. The price of petrol is being reduced by Rs74 per litre and the price of diesel by Rs67 per litre, and the price of petrol will come down from Rs373 per litre to Rs299, while the price of diesel will fall from Rs378 per litre to Rs311. The price cut marks one of biggest fuel price cuts in recent years and is expected to lower transportation costs while providing relief to millions of motorcycle and car owners across the country.
