IHC to hear Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi appeals in £190 million case on June 29

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court has fixed June 29 for the hearing of appeals filed by former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million case. The cause list issued by the registrar of the Islamabad High Court for next week showed that Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi’s appeals will be taken up for regular hearing before a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif. The appeals challenge the convictions handed down in the £190 million reference. In addition to their appeals, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have also filed contempt of court petitions, which are linked to the case. The court had earlier directed the legal team to submit duly signed vakalatnamas within seven days to complete the required procedural formalities. The legal observers expect the court to review both the appeals and the status of the contempt petitions during the June 29 hearing.
