NHA Toll Plaza Contracts see fierce bidding as Top Deals touch Rs13 Crore mark

ISLAMABAD – National Highway Authority NHA’s latest toll plaza contract auction turned into high-value bidding contest across Pakistan’s major highways, with contracts extending until 2027. Companies competed for key toll locations, pushing some bids up to around Rs 13 crore. NHA awarded new toll plaza contracts across Pakistan’s busiest highways under net guaranteed monthly revenue model, with agreements locked in until June 30, 2027. The competitive bidding process, described by officials as fully transparent, saw billions of rupees exchanged in aggressive offers, with contractors required to pay fixed monthly amounts in advance along with all applicable taxes. Firms were also mandated to be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council, while government defaulters were strictly barred. Additionally, all operators must secure “cash-in-transit” insurance to manage toll revenue handling risks.
