US President Donald Trump has announced that he will make public the full text of the memorandum of understanding reached with Iran, though he said he first wants to arrange a formal setting. Speaking to reporters, Trump said he has no objection to sharing the agreement, emphasising that its central provision ensures Iran will never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, either by purchasing or developing them. He described the deal as achieving nearly everything he had hoped for, saying it represents “99.9 per cent” of his objectives. Trump also stated that once reopened, the Strait of Hormuz would operate freely without any toll charges. He added that he expects to review the contents of the agreement with the media within the next few days. He said maritime traffic has already begun resuming through the strategic waterway and expressed confidence that the Strait of Hormuz would be fully operational by Friday. According to him, shipping activity is steadily increasing, oil exports are restarting, and global oil prices are already beginning to fall at a rapid pace. Reiterating his stance on Tehran’s nuclear programme, Trump stressed that the most critical aspect of the agreement is the guarantee that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances. Asked about the upcoming second phase of negotiations, Trump said he expects discussions to proceed on schedule, noting that both sides are eager to complete the process. He said Iran is motivated to move forward because it needs to restore normal economic activity, adding that relations between Washington and Tehran have now returned to a more stable footing. Because of that, he predicted the next stage of talks would move quickly. When questioned about whether he would present the US-Iran agreement before Congress, Trump said he had not previously considered it but indicated he would be open to doing so and had no objection to taking that step.
