On May 29, CNBC reported that, over the past 3 months, the company committed a minimum of $6.5 billion towards companies that develop photonics technology. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is focused on accelerating investments that can help solve one of the critical bottlenecks to the AI rollout.

Photonics, i.e., using light to transfer the data, happens to be an emerging technology. It is believed to be a more efficient alternative to the present practice of transmitting data with the help of electricity. Using electricity tends to consume more energy.
