Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Iranian FM Araghchi to convey Pakistan’s Condolences

TEHRAN – Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Friday, where he conveyed Pakistan’s condolences over the passing of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and paid tribute to his leadership and services to Iran. During the meeting, the top commander of Pakistani armed forces expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Iranian people and leadership during the country’s period of mourning, reaffirming the close ties shared by the two neighboring nations. Field Marshal Asim Munir is in Tehran as part of a high-level Pakistani delegation led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend the funeral ceremonies of the late Iranian leader. The delegation’s visit reflects Islamabad’s message of sympathy and support for Iran during the mourning period. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior Pakistani officials also arrived in the Iranian capital to pay their respects and offer condolences on behalf of Pakistan.
