KARACHI – Karachi police submitted interim challan to prosecution in a murder case registered at Baghdadi Police Station against Anmol, aka “Pinky,” who is facing allegations in major drugs bust case. The investigating officer (IO) submitted the interim challan stating that the investigation in the case is still incomplete; however, due to the expiry of the stipulated timeframe for filing the charge sheet, an interim report has been forwarded to the prosecution. As per the challan, the incident dates back to May 7, when the complainant, while passing through Haji Pir Muhammad Road in connection with motorcycle-related work, noticed a dead body lying on a footpath. The area was reportedly crowded with people at the time. The complainant said with the assistance of Rescue officials, the body was shifted to Baghdadi Police Station via ambulance. During examination at the police station, a small box was recovered from the deceased’s pocket. The challan noted that the recovered golden-colored box bore the inscription “Queen Medium Pinky Don, Naam Hi Kafi Hai.” Following this, investigators reportedly developed links suggesting the involvement of Anmol alias Pinky, who is stated to be engaged in the sale of narcotics. Meanwhile, the prosecution said the interim challan is currently under scrutiny. Officials said any investigative gaps or procedural shortcomings will be addressed during the scrutiny process, after which the interim challan will be formally submitted before the Judicial Magistrate. Police further confirmed that the murder case was registered at Baghdadi Police Station on the complaint of Sheroz, a resident of the Lines Area.
