64-year-old Pakistani man admits to killing his wife for denying ‘physical relations’

KARACHI – A sexagenarian man walked into a police station and confessed to killing his wife after a domestic dispute, but the nature of dispute is no ordinary, at least to be discussed bluntly in public. Police initially doubted the calm confession, but later recovered the body from the couple’s home in Orangi Town, confirming the incident and launching a formal investigation. Karachi Police said the suspect arrived at the police station in the early hours and voluntarily admitted to the crime, prompting initial disbelief among officers due to the unusual nature of the surrender. An investigating officer stated that the confession was so unexpected that it was initially mistaken for a prank. He is said to have then attacked her with an iron rod and a cutter, resulting in her death. After confession, police escorted the suspect to his residence in the Orangi Town area of Ghaziabad. Upon arrival, officers found the house locked, which the suspect reportedly opened himself. Inside, they discovered the body of a 58-year-old woman lying on a bed, covered. Authorities said the residence was a small house measuring approximately 100–120 square yards with a tin roof. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Edhi Ambulance service. Police further confirmed that the alleged weapon used in the offence was recovered from the suspect at the time of his surrender.
