Lakki Marwat – At least seven people, including police personnel, were killed and more than a dozen others injured in a powerful blast that rocked the Sarai Naurang Bazaar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district, the police said on Tuesday. The hospital officials and other sources confirmed that the blast occurred in a crowded commercial area, triggering panic, damage to surrounding structures, and chaos among shoppers and traders. Medical authorities confirmed that seven fatalities have been reported so far, among them two traffic police officials who were performing duty at the time of the explosion. They added that over 18 injured persons have been shifted to nearby hospitals, where several are stated to be in critical condition. Women and children present in the market for routine shopping were also among the injured. Following the incident, rescue teams and a heavy police contingent reached the scene immediately. The injured and bodies were transferred to local health facilities, where emergency measures were enforced and additional medical staff were called in to manage the situation. Officials warned that the death toll may increase as some of the injured remain in serious condition. Security forces quickly sealed off the entire area and launched a search operation to collect evidence and identify those responsible. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the nature of the explosion to determine whether it was a suicide attack or an improvised explosive device (IED) planted in the area. The site has been cordoned off for forensic examination as investigators continue gathering material evidence. Security forces remain deployed in and around the area to maintain order and support ongoing investigations. Six policemen including SHO martyred in Lakki Marwat blast
