Pakistan on Wednesday introduced cashless payment facilities at passport offices nationwide, marking a major step toward modernising public services. Naqvi said the move is part of broader efforts to make government services quicker, more transparent, and more convenient for the public. He stated that more improvements are in the pipeline and expressed confidence that additional milestones will be achieved in the future. Director General of Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa recently revealed a large-scale digital transformation plan aimed at improving passport services and curbing illegal practices. As part of the initiative, authorities are preparing to launch a passport mobile application that will allow citizens to apply for new passports, renew existing ones, monitor application status, and access related services directly from their smartphones.
