2027 Acura ADX

As Acura’s entry-level SUV, the ADX targets new luxury shoppers who prioritize value and dependability but don’t mind upscale trimmings and nice driving manners. Although fundamentally similar to certain Honda models, the ADX provides a premium impression and good equipment for its price. It’s an inexpensive option in the luxury subcompact SUV segment, which also includes the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Lexus UX. Acura added the ADX to its lineup for 2025. For 2026, Double Apex Blue was introduced as a new paint option. No changes are made to the ADX for 2027. Calling the ADX a Honda HR-V with a stronger engine and nicer trim wouldn’t be misguided. Acura worked to give its smallest SUV a premium look and feel, but aspects of the more mainstream basis remain. On the road, the ADX is pleasant enough, combining a comfortable ride with a connected handling feel. The engine is surprisingly torquey and responsive given its small size, though its low power is revealed when trying short freeway merges and passing maneuvers. All-wheel drive is available, but it’s not the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system that gives other Acura models an athletic feel. Practicality and cargo space are strong points. The front seats offer ample room and comfort. Rear-seat space is respectable, though taller passengers may be constrained, like in other small SUVs. The drawbacks are harder to ignore. Road and wind noise are pervasive at higher speeds. The included adaptive cruise control might be more trouble than it’s worth. Obvious Honda parts sharing dulls the premium impression, and although the number of real physical controls benefits everyday ease of use, tech isn’t as impressive as some rivals. Still, the ADX could be a compelling entry-level SUV for drivers focused on value, dependability, and simplicity more than badge cachet. The sole engine in the ADX is a 1.5-liter turbocharged I-4 that produces 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. The engine is connected to a CVT automatic, with FWD standard and AWD available. In MotorTrend testing, 0–60-mph acceleration has taken between 8.2 and 8.9 seconds. Fuel economy for the ADX with FWD is rated at 26/31 mpg city/highway, with about 390 miles of driving range on a full tank of gas. With AWD, the ADX returns 25/30 mpg and goes approximately 375 miles between fill-ups. Given its similarities to Honda vehicles, equipping the ADX with a hybrid powertrain seems technically feasible. What powers the Civic Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, or Prelude could be a basis for an electrified system for the ADX. That might require some slight repackaging to accommodate the battery and other hardware, but a potential ADX Hybrid would likely improve performance and fuel economy. Honda’s hybrids tend to drive nicely, so there’s reason to believe Acura hybrids would, too. Acura might be considering an ADX Hybrid, but nothing is confirmed. In its most recent safety testing for 2026, the ADX earned a five-star overall score from NHTSA, the highest possible. In IIHS evaluations it received 2025 Top Safety Pick status, the second-best result. Every ADX has the AcuraWatch suite of driver assists and active safety features, which includes front automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alter, blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beams. The A-Spec Advance trim gains front and rear parking sensors, along with low-speed collision mitigation. The ADX provides more space for passengers and cargo than its subcompact dimensions might suggest—it’s fairly roomy inside. Every ADX is equipped with a 10.2-inch digital gauge display and 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all models. A wireless charging pad and front USB-C ports are also standard across the range, while rear seat USB-C ports are added above the base trim. An eight-speaker audio system is standard. The A-Spec Advance model upgrades to a nice-sounding Bang & Olufsen premium system with 15 speakers. The A-Spec Advance trim adds Google apps and Alexa built-in integration to the infotainment system. This high-end trim also gets a sharp 360-degree camera, HD radio, remote engine start functionality, and driver’s seat memory settings. In its base trim with FWD, the ADX starts at about $36,500. Standard exterior features include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, heated side mirrors, a moonroof, a capless fuel filler, and a power tailgate. Inside, it has leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and a 9.0-inch touchscreen.
