ISLAMABAD – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), in coordination with the Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA), busted a network involved in collection, processing, and commercial export of human placenta from federal capital. Acting on the tip-off, a joint team of FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle (CCC) and HOTA officials raided the premises. Investigators said the property, outwardly appearing to be an ordinary residence, had allegedly been converted into an unauthorized processing facility where human placenta was collected, preserved, dried, packaged, and prepared for commercial distribution. During the raid, officials detained Li Gangcai, Wang Bao, Peng Fei Guo, Muhammad Waqas, and Qasim Hanif, who investigators allege were directly involved in the operation. Authorities claim the placenta was being sourced from hospitals in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Lahore before being transported to Islamabad for processing.
