ISLAMABAD – Travel between Pakistan and Azerbaijan becomes easy with launch of direct Lahore–Baku flights by Airblue. A new chapter opened between two sides as Pakistani airline launched direct flights between Lahore and Baku. The inaugural Airblue flight received a spectacular welcome upon its arrival in Baku. As part of the ceremonial reception, the aircraft was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute during landing, reflecting the importance of the occasion and the warm hospitality extended to the new route. Adding to celebratory moment, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Qasim Mohiuddin, was present at the ceremony and cut a cake to mark the launch of the direct flight service. He termed the development a crucial step forward in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing people-to-people connectivity. Pakistani Embassy in Baku confirmed the successful arrival of Airblue’s first flight from Lahore, highlighting the achievement as a new milestone in diplomatic and travel relations between the two nations. The embassy stressed that Pakistan and Azerbaijan reached another important landmark in their relationship, with Airblue now operating direct flights between Lahore and Baku. It noted that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) are already operating direct routes, further strengthening air links between the two friendly countries.
