LAHORE – A new weather system is expected to enter Punjab from tomorrow, bringing chances of rainfall across Lahore and several other districts, the Meteorological Department said on Saturday. The Met Office said that the system is likely to persist for around three days, producing light to moderate rain in some areas and heavier showers in others. The spell is expected to reduce the prevailing heat and humidity across the province, providing relief to residents. The weather experts said Lahore will remain partly cloudy today, with a low probability of rainfall. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 27°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 40°C. In anticipation of the upcoming weather conditions, WASA Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed has issued an alert, directing field staff to remain deployed to ensure effective drainage arrangements during rainfall. The Meteorological Department has also advised concerned authorities to complete necessary preparations in advance to cope with possible urban flooding and other weather-related challenges during the rainy spell.
