LAHORE – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has released detailed guidelines to help citizens change the temporary or permanent address on their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs). It said both homeowners and tenants can apply to change either their temporary or permanent residential address by submitting the required documents. Documents Required for Temporary Address For tenants seeking to update only their temporary address, NADRA said applicants must provide a copy of their rental agreement along with a copy of a recent electricity bill. Those wishing to register a rented property as their permanent address must submit the same documents in addition to an affidavit from the property owner. The affidavit must confirm that the property has been rented to the applicant and that the owner has no objection to the address being recorded as the applicant’s permanent residence in official records. Permanent Address Change NADRA further clarified that homeowners applying to register their own property as their permanent address are required to present the original ownership documents at a NADRA office. The documents will be scanned during the verification process, and there is no requirement to submit photocopies. The authority advised citizens to ensure that all required documents are complete before submitting their applications to avoid unnecessary delays in processing. ID Card Address Modification Fees The authority offers three categories – normal, urgent and executive – for modification in national identity cards. It receives 400 in normal category, Rs1,150 in urgent and Rs2,150 for executive category for any modification, include address, on ID card. Nadra can reject the application for modification if it is not satisfied with the details provided by the applicant.
