ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s mobile telecommunications market witnessed minor shifts in May 2026, with Jazz and Telenor recording a slight decline in subscriber share, while Zong and Ufone expanded their presence in the sector. The latest industry data showed that Jazz remained the country’s largest mobile operator despite a marginal drop in market share from 36.50 percent in April to 36.42 percent in May. The operator continues to serve more than one-third of Pakistan’s mobile subscribers. Zong strengthened its position as the second-largest telecom operator, increasing its market share from 26.58 percent to 26.62 percent during the month. The growth reflects the company’s continued efforts to attract new subscribers and expand its network coverage. Ufone also posted gains, with its share rising from 14.54 percent in April to 14.65 percent in May, further improving its footprint in the competitive telecom market. In contrast, Telenor’s market share edged down from 21.33 percent to 21.26 percent, while the share of the Special Communications Organization (SCO) remained unchanged at 1.05 percent. The latest figures highlight ongoing competition among mobile operators as companies continue to invest in network expansion and digital services to attract and retain subscribers. Industry analysts expect competition to remain intense in the coming months as operators seek to expand their subscriber base and strengthen their position in Pakistan’s growing telecommunications market.
