Red Bull Cement Plant Sealed, ‎Industry Praises Multi-Agency Action

The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association has praised a coordinated crackdown by multiple government agencies against an illegal cement production facility operating as Red Bull Cement on Sargodha-Faisalabad Road. The APCMA acknowledged the prompt action taken by the Federal Board of Revenue, Environmental Protection Agency, and the District Industries Department, which issued formal orders against the unauthorised unit and moved swiftly against its operations. According to reports, authorities carried out a detailed inspection and discovered that the factory was functioning without essential approvals, registrations, environmental clearances, and other legal permissions required under existing regulations. Following the findings, officials sealed the premises and halted all production activities. APCMA commended the concerned departments for enforcing regulations and safeguarding legitimate businesses operating within the law. The association noted that illegal cement manufacturing causes significant revenue losses to the national treasury through tax evasion while creating unfair market competition by avoiding environmental, safety, quality, and regulatory standards that compliant manufacturers must follow. Pakistan’s cement sector contributes billions of rupees in taxes each year and operates under strict compliance with regulations set by authorities including the FBR and EPA. APCMA urged regulators to strengthen monitoring systems and take proactive measures to identify and stop unauthorised manufacturing units before they inflict further damage on the industry. The association also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting regulatory institutions in efforts aimed at eliminating illegal industrial operations and promoting a transparent, fair, and sustainable business environment for Pakistan’s cement industry.
