Xinjiang growth model can transform Pakistan’s regional connectivity: Ambassador Jiang Zaidong

Experts term Xinjiang development as new opportunity for Pakistan-China economic integration. The extraordinary development, stability and prosperity achieved by Xinjiang offers fresh opportunities to deepen Pakistan-China cooperation in trade, connectivity, industrial growth and regional integration. This was stated by Ambassador of China, Mr Jiang Zaidon while delivering the keynote address at a seminar on Xinjiang’s socio-economic transformation here at the Movenpick Hotel Saturday. The seminar titled “Xinjiang’s Socio-Economic Progress, Ethnic Harmony, and Emerging Opportunities: Unlocking New Horizons” was organized by the Overseas Chinese Association Rawalpindi. A large number of diplomats, Pakistani officials from the Commerce Ministry, the Overseas Pakistanis division, members of the business community, trade, chambers of commerce & industries from both sides attended the event. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on China Affairs, Zafar Uddin Mahmood, President of the Overseas Chinese Association Rawalpindi, Nasir Khan, and Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) Embassy of China Mr Shi Yuanqiang also addressed the event and termed the Xinjiang growth model offering immense opportunities to the Pakistani investors and business companies. The Chinese ambassador said that as Pakistan and China were all set to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations in less than two weeks, bilateral ties continued to evolve into a comprehensive strategic partnership anchored in mutual trust and shared prosperity. He described Xinjiang as a region witnessing the best period of development, stability and prosperity in its history, adding that its geographical proximity to Pakistan makes it a natural gateway for expanding cross-border trade and strengthening connectivity under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Sharing impressions from his recent visits to Urumqi, Kashgar and Id Kah Mosque, Ambassador Jiang said he personally witnessed peaceful coexistence and ethnic harmony among
