Constellation Energy Corporation (NASDAQ:CEG) and Walmart announced on June 23 a long-term nuclear power purchase agreement for emissions-free electricity from Constellation's Dresden Clean Energy Center in Illinois, with the agreement including around 176 MW of wholesale supply. This includes 30 MW of expanded generating capacity. Management stated that the agreement supports reliable nuclear energy in the region, adding that Walmart will purchase energy, environmental attributes, and capacity through two 15‑year terms beginning in 2029 and 2030. It will help Walmart bolster local energy infrastructure and access cleaner energy.
