RAWALAKOT – Authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) said normal life has resumed in Rawalakot after a recent attempt by members of a banned Joint Awami Action Committee to disrupt law and order. According to officials, four law enforcement personnel were martyred during the unrest. Authorities said armed individuals associated with the banned group attempted to create disorder in Rawalakot on the evening of June 7. The spokesperson for the Inspector General of Police said three members of the banned action committee were killed and several others injured as a result of firing from within their own group. Officials added that those involved in the unrest have been dispersed and law and order has been restored. Authorities stated that educational institutions, businesses, and social activities in Rawalakot are continuing as normal. Police and other law enforcement agencies remain engaged in ensuring public safety, protecting lives and property, and maintaining the writ of the state. Officials further said that residents of Rawalakot, like those in other districts of Azad Kashmir, rejected the protest call and continued their daily routines. Meanwhile, normal life is also continuing in Muzaffarabad, where educational institutions, commercial centers, and social activities remain operational. Residents were seen carrying on with their daily affairs without disruption.
