LAHORE – The Lahore traffic authorities have introduced a major facilitation for citizens applying for driving licenses by establishing free medical fitness certificate centers in government hospitals across the city. The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore said citizens can now obtain medical fitness certificates free of cost from designated public hospitals. In the initial phase, 13 government hospitals in Lahore have been included in this initiative. List of Hospitals Special medical counters have been set up at DHQ Mian Mir Hospital, DHQ Mozang, General Hospital Ghaziabad, and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sabzazar. Other hospitals included in the facility are Government Hospital Samanabad, Qila Gujjar Singh, Shahdara, Bilal Ganj, Sodiwal, Kahna, Raiwind, and Swami Nagar. Officials stated that medical fitness certificates are mandatory for obtaining a commercial driving license and for individuals above the age of 50. The initiative aims to simplify the process and reduce inconvenience for applicants. The CTO also announced that a digital system is being introduced to curb the use of fake medical certificates. Online medical verification will further enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust in the licensing process. Authorities said the new system is part of broader efforts to modernize traffic-related services and improve efficiency in public service delivery across the city.
