ISLAMABAD – The federal government has reduced the price of kerosene oil by Rs6.85 per litre, according to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). Under the revised prices, kerosene oil will now be available at Rs227.05 per litre. The new rate has come into effect immediately. According to the notification, the reduction was made after reviewing changes in global petroleum markets and considering recommendations from relevant authorities. The government said petroleum prices are regularly evaluated based on international market trends, import costs and applicable taxes. The government has decided to maintain the existing prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the coming week. Petrol will continue to be sold at Rs299.50 per litre, while diesel will remain priced at Rs311.47 per litre. Meanwhile, petroleum levy rates on petrol and diesel have been increased. Sources from the Petroleum Division said the levy on diesel has been raised by Rs6.57 per litre, bringing the total levy to Rs79.54 per litre. The levy on petrol has also been increased by Rs0.39 per litre, taking it to Rs66.64 per litre. The petroleum levy on kerosene oil remains unchanged at Rs20.36 per litre.
